Hello everyone, I am the company founder of SBL and A plus! After a number of years in corporate roles in the City and West End, I retrained as a teacher in 2010 and I am the head of the languages and English department at SBL. I deliver in person and online French, Spanish and English lessons up to A Level and beyond. In my spare time, I enjoy art, theatre, singing, dancing and sports. I love travelling to new destinations too to discover new cultures. I am very nurturing, kind and assertive. My lessons are fun and interactive and students have managed to get their desired grades over the years!

I’m Helen, SBL’s company PA. I work alongside Sarah and the team assisting in all things admin – scheduling lessons, keeping tutor and student records up to date and generally providing support to the team.
I have a background in education myself, having trained as an Early Years specialist teacher after university. I passionately believe that education is the key to success, and I am so pleased I get to support students in their journeys, even in a small way.

I have a 1st class Maths degree and a Masters Statistics degree. I worked for several years in Government before starting private tuition. All of my 6 children have studied Maths to A-level.

After completing my PhD in Mathematics, I have worked on analytical projects in areas as varied as retail, shipping, and even modern art. I love finding clear and engaging ways to explain complex ideas, and I bring that same enthusiasm to my tutoring. Outside of work, I am a keen athlete and have recently taken part in half marathons and triathlons.

Hi, I’m Ginika! I’ve been teaching for over 30 years, mainly in the healthcare field, and I’ve worked with students of all ages — from curious 6-year-olds to motivated adults. I teach English, Maths, Chemistry, Biology, and Integrated Science at GCSE and A Level.
I love one-to-one teaching because it lets me tailor each lesson to my student’s needs. My approach focuses on building confidence, strengthening study skills, and making learning fun and engaging.

Hi! I’m a primary school teacher from Spain with a Master’s in Psychopedagogy. I teach Spanish and have over six years of experience living in London, where I’ve taught both face to face and online. I love helping students feel confident using Spanish in real-life situations, creating lessons that are dynamic, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs, so learning feels natural, enjoyable, and rewarding.
